Unique Options for Your Loved One's Remains

Unique Options for Your Loved One's Remains

After your loved one has passed, you may honor their final wishes by having them cremated. After they are cremated, you'll receive the ashes. Some people decide to bury the ashes in a cemetery, have them placed in a columbarium or scatter them. But other people decide to keep them and do something unique with them. Here are alternative ways to memorialize your loved one.

Create a Diamond

Your loved one's ashes can be turned into a diamond, which can then be set into a ring, necklace or another piece of jewelry. This allows you to remember your loved one every time you put it on and carry a piece of them with you. If your loved one left behind multiple family members, you might want to have smaller diamonds made so every family member can have one.

Send Them Off Into Space

While your loved one may not have been able to visit space in real life, some services work with the space program to bring cremated remains up into space to complete a real space mission. If your loved one loved space and dreamed of going, this can be an out of this world way to do something special for them. And every time you look up at the stars, you'll get to think of your loved one.

Many people bury their loved one's remains in cemeteries because they want a place to visit and mourn them. However, instead of paying for a costly cemetery plot, your loved one's ashes can be turned into a biodegradable urn that a seedling is placed into.

Turn Them Into a Tree

Many people bury their loved one's remains in cemeteries because they want a place to visit and mourn them. However, instead of paying for a costly cemetery plot, your loved one's ashes can be turned into a biodegradable urn that a seedling is placed into. When buried, the urn disintegrates, making it environmentally-friendly. You are left with a tree that will grow and change over time, giving you a place to go to remember and memorialize your loved one.

Let Them Go Out With a Bang

The last option is to let your loved one go out with a bang. There are two different ways you can do this. Ashes can be placed inside of bullets or can be made into fireworks. You can shoot the bullets or light off the fireworks, allowing your loved one's ashes to literally go out with a bang. If they had a fiery personality or loved unique traditions, this may be perfect for them.
